Gordon CaveThe Company began in 1970, when Scotsman Gordon F. Cave founded the first independent commercial correspondent for P&I Clubs at the port of Valparaiso, Chile, after being the general manager in one of the most important maritime agencies of the country.

His experience was reflected in an exclusive commitment to P&I and other related insurances, offering response to all the emergencies that would occur, including incident advice and claims handling services.

Seven years later, in 1977, his wife, also Scottish, Lee Cave, joined the company and it became Gordon F. Cave & Cia. Ltda.

In 1991, the company’s founder dies and it acquires a new name: Cave & Cia. Ltda.

Since 2003, it is part of Cave Group, a holding that belongs to the Cave family, created to establish a cluster made up of different specialised sister companies: Cave y Cia Ltda., Cave Liquidadores de Seguros, Cave Traducciones e Idiomas and eClaims.

Its partners are Lee Cave, Andrew Cave, David Cave and Ruth Cave, who have kept the family values of service, transparency, and efficiency. Andrew and Ruth Cave, siblings, are the everyday managing team of the Company, with Andrew as its CEO.
